Standing in school
This series created itself upon reflection of the photographs taken in Atakpamé, Togo. All of the women were doing work. Young girls do not get the liberty to live as freely as the boys. They are often expected to assist their mother in her daily activities from child care, farming, retrieving water, selling goods for the family, and more. When the girl is old enough she is expected to get married and continue this routine, but now for her own family. The differing expectations of women and men are apart of their oppression in this part of the world, teaching they can not do more than provide for the family.
